FG assures on fuel availability at Yuletid

Abuja—Despite the fuel scarcity being experienced in some parts of the country, Federal Government has given assurances that there would be uninterrupted supply of petroleum products during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
A senior aide to the Minister of Petroleum Resources, who spoke with journalists at the Presidential Villa Thursday, said no attempt by some disgruntled elements to frustrate the efforts of President Goodluck Jonathan in reforming the oil and gas sector would succeed.
The official, who sought anonymity because a detailed briefing would be provided next week by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, noted that the government was determined to ensure there was no return of queues in the nation’s petrol stations.
He said: “The government is working round the clock to ensure that people have fuel during the Christmas and New Year period.”
“President Jonathan has ordered the respective agencies to reconcile any problem in the distribution chain that may hinder the availability of the products during the festive season.”
